With over 30 years in the NDT-QC business in most industries and currently holding ASNT Level III certs in UT, MT, PT, RT and VT along with AWS-CWI cert with LT coming soon, I have the background, training and certifications to help you as your Level III. I previously held a API-510 cert with several years of proven work in the oil refining industry.
We also have other Level III’s that help teach classes, their certifications include ET, LT, as well, the methods Trever has.
I began teaching 7 years ago by offering CWI Exam Prep Classes. Over the course of several years, I have branched out to the most utilized disciplines with classes being offered both in person and online.
First Choice NDE takes great pride in my ability to further the knowledge of those new to NDT and inspectors that need to brush up on their abilities or want to learn new techniques.
Furthermore, our training is in conformance with ASNT Publications (TC-1A, CP-189 and CP 105).
As our resident Eddy Current Level III, Doug is in charge of all our clients that are NAS-410 certified, taking care of their training, certification and compliance.
Doug began his NDT career after switching career fields while in the Navy to pursue NDT. A 22 year Navy veteran, Doug was a certified NDT instructor for 5 years while serving, along with being a RSO for 10 years.
Holding Level III certifications in ET, MT, PT, UT, Doug’s strong background as a Level II and a CWI prior to becoming a Level III really solidifies a well rounded background.
Doug says his favorite part of being an instructor is seeing a student whose struggling, find his path and become successful to pass their training, gaining experience in the field and finally testing to become certified.
Besides being one of our instructors for the past 4 years, Doug has created our Eddy Current training program and unveiling our inaugural ET I class this year.
I am excited to be one of the new NDT instructors for First Choice NDE, I hold ASNT Level III certifications in MT, PT, UT, VT, and an AWS CWI with a D1.5 Endorsement.
I also proudly carry NAVSEA Naval Shipbuilders Level III certifications in MT, PT, and VT.
My career has been primarily focused on structural steel, contributing to significant projects such as the new 12-story building for Oregon Health and Sciences Hospital and the McKinley Bridge, a 4-lane bridge spanning across a railway.
I find immense satisfaction in guiding new students into the path of NDT. Helping them choose the most beneficial path for their futures and advising them on which industries to move into is a responsibility I take to heart.
In addition to this, I have a passion for creating engaging training courses. I believe in a more involved approach to student learning, incorporating multiple knowledge checks and offering different learning paths. This philosophy is currently being implemented into our “learn at your own pace” NDT training courses online that I’m creating.
My goal as an instructor is not just to teach, but to inspire and pave the way for the next generation of NDT professionals.
