UT Hands on training
We get asked often about what we cover during the hands-on portion of our UT I class, below are some of the labs we do:
Straight Beam Calibration
Familiarization of UT equipment (within this lab, a few of the things this lab covers are:
UT machine itself
Transducer
Sweep, Timer, Pulser, Receiver/Amplifier Settings
Reject/Gating Control among many other things
Near Field and Attenuation
Bolt and Threaded Rod Flaw Detection
Soundness Scan of Plate
Dual Element Calibration
We spend 10 hours on hands on training during our UT I/II courses
We loan out UT scopes for those that don’t have access to them and mail out hands on training samples to all students.
