Equipment Deposits and rental fees
We are asked often “What is the equipment deposit for” OR “Why are there 2 different deposit prices?”
For the majority of our students, they are already working in the NDT field in some capacity and work for a company that has the equipment that would be needed for the hands on portion of class, i.e, UT machine, a Mag Yoke, etc.
In that scenario, the only thing they would need from us, is the hands-on testing plates that are used on the day we do hands on training. The equipment deposit for that is much less than it is for sending UT Machines, etc.
The other scenario, is a student who is either new to NDT or an NDT technician, etc that can’t borrow the necessary equipment. In that case, a larger deposit is required due to the cost of the equipment being sent to the student.
All deposits are returned to students (minus the cost of us shipping the kits to them) once they return all of the equipment after class.
Some students ask us if we rent out our equipment and/or samples. The answer is yes, of course with a deposit.
The most popular item to be rented out?? The Part B CWI class samples, many students after going through my prep class or after having tested and not passed, will rent these samples out for extra practice. We have approximately a dozen of the Part B sample kits for rental.
